EasyTag | Welcome

Welcome to EasyTag! Here's how it works:

  1. You'll provide information, pictures or scans of your documents, and pay the EasyTag service fee today
  2. We'll verify you have all of the correct documents and then submit everything securely to the County
  3. The County will process your registration and calculate how much you owe in registration fees and taxes
  4. You'll be notified that it's time to pay. When the County receives your payment they will mail you your tag/decal
That's it! Best of all, you don't have to make a trip to the license office or wait in line!

EasyTag | What You'll Need

In order to proceed with EasyTag, you must have the following:

  • Your Alabama Title Application
  • The bill of sale from the dealership
  • Proof of valid insurance on your new vehicle
  • A valid and un-expired Alabama drivers license for each name on the title application. If your drivers license is expired you will need to renew before you can register. This can be done Online Here
  • If you wish to register your vehicle with a personalized plate, you must have the order confirmation receipt available to upload. You can reserve personalized plates here - https://pros.mvtrip.alabama.gov/

You will need to provide scans (or a picture) of all of these documents. This page has been optimized for use on mobile devices and you can take a picture of each required document during the process.

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR SHELBY COUNTY RESIDENTS:

If this is the first vehicle you've registered in Shelby County, you will need to provide proof of residency. Any of the following are acceptable documents:

  • Current Utility Bill (ex: landline phone, gas, power, or water)
  • Deed, Lease or Mortgage statement.
The document must clearly show the owner's name and Shelby county address.

During the EasyTag process, please do not use the back button on your browser as it will invalidate the EasyTag registration process and you will have to start again.

The EasyTag service fee will be due today once we've obtained all of your information. This fee is charged by EasyTag as the providers of this service and not by the registering County. If for any reason your EasyTag registration cannot be completed, a full refund of the service fee will be issued to you.

You can find this information on your insurance card. The NAIC number is a 5-digit number that specifies the insurance company. In order for this information to be validated, you must have already added your new car to this policy.
